The Pioneer XDJ-700 is a compact, rekordbox ready digital player with a 7 inch touchscreen and a host of performance features inherited from Pioneer’s pro CDJ and XDJ range.
The first thing that surprises you after unboxing the XDJ-700 is the slimline size of the unit, especially when you consider the feature set that this portable player offers. The 700 ships with detachable feet, as a result the unit is both the perfect height for integration alongside a DJ controller that offers mixer functions or sat next to a DJM when raised. Considering all of the standard CDJ controls are on board you might be wondering how Pioneer have managed to cram so much into the XDJ-700, after all with the exception of the smaller jog wheel, removal of the reverse button (which is now accessible from the touch screen) and the vinyl speed adjust, every control from the XDJ-1000 is present. Well thanks to the removal of the CD Drive and the internal transformer (replaced with an external PSU) Pioneer have crafted a sleek player with little in the way of compromise.
