While its low-profile design fits unobtrusively on desktops, the MD5 features a weighted die-cast metal base (6.25" wide) to provide maximum stability for any microphone with a standard 5/8"-27 threaded microphone clip. It even works well with the Samson SP01 Spider Shockmount. The MD5 is perfect for podcasting, voiceovers, music recording, or any desktop application where optimal microphone placement is essential.
